What is unique about this website and the online fundraising tools for participants?
This website is unique because it offers the capability for individuals, teams and virtual walkers to not only register online for the event but also to collect donations from their friends and family through a customized personal page for each participant. This powerful and efficient tool allows the participant to track the progress of donations they have raised, send emails to ask for support and send thank you emails to supporters.

Are there instructions for how to use the Participant Center?
The Participant Center let's you create a personal page to raise funds and manage the progress of your fundraising efforts. Download the Participant Center How-to Guide for details on how best to use the Participant Center to help with your fundraising efforts.

How do I register online for the So Cal MK5K Run/Walk?
You can register as an individual, virtual walker or create a new team or join an existing team. Each option will guide you through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation e-mail receipt that will include your user name and password. Click here to Register Now.

What is a virtual walker?
Virtual walkers are participants that cannot join us in person on race day but still want to participate and help raise money for this great cause. Virtual walkers can live anywhere in the country and can even create a team to have a mini local event on the same day as So Cal MK5K. Virtual walkers register for the event and will choose the "virtual walker" participation type and will have the ability to create their own fundraising page and have supporters donate to the event on their behalf. So all you sleepyheads out there, join the event from your living room in your fuzzy slippers.

Can I change teams or become a captain of a new team after I have registered?
Yes, you can join a team or create a new team at any time. However, once you are registered in the system, changing teams or creating a new team must be done by the site administrator. Please email us your name, the team name you want to join or the new team that you want created and that you will be the captain of. We will set it up and then send you an email confirmation that it is done. E-mail MKCares@marykayfoundation.org to request your user name and password be resent to the e-mail on file. Once we receive your request, we will e-mail you your user name and password.

Is my information secure?
Yes. Our online processing partner has made every effort to protect your information. They use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the Internet.

Who benefits from the proceeds of the So Cal MK5K Run/Walk?
The proceeds from this event go to The Mary Kay Foundation℠, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a two-fold mission: funding research of cancers affecting women and helping prevent domestic violence.

How does The Mary Kay Foundation℠ utilize the contributions?
97% of the funds raised by The Mary Kay Foundation℠ goes to support the programs and services offered. Are donations made in support of participants tax-deductible?
Yes, all donations to The Mary Kay Foundation℠ are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The donor will receive an email receipt with the details of their donation that can be used for tax purposes.

Can friends and family make a donation to a participant by going through the main TMKF website?
Yes. On The Mary Kay Foundation℠ website home page, friends and family can click on the "Events" tab and choose "Upcoming Events" to find the event and click the link to go to the event homepage. Then select "Donate" in the top navigation. They will have the option to donate to a participant, team or make a general donation. To donate to a participant or team, click on that option and it will take you to a search screen where you can enter the participant or team's name to look them up. This will then direct you to the participant or team’s page where you can make a donation.

Can I bring pets? Can I bring a stroller?
Yes, pets on leash are allowed. Strollers for children are welcome.

Why is the "Participant Search" not finding a walker or team that I know has registered?
You must type in the first name or last name of the walker or team name exactly how it is spelled. It is not case-sensitive and you can just type the first few letters of the name for your search. If you have a problem locating a walker or team that you are sure has registered, please e-mail MKCares@marykayfoundation.org for assistance.

How can I see who has donated to me?
Login to your Participant Center using the user name and password that you received when you registered for the event. You can then view your donor list and the amounts that have been donated as well as send email thank you notes to your supporters.

I forgot my user name and password. How can I find out what they are?
Remember that your password is case-sensitive so ensure you are entering it properly. If you are unable to login, send an email to MKCares@marykayfoundation.org to request your user name and password be resent to the email on file. Once we receive your request, we will email you with your user name and password.

Some of my donors are not showing up on the scroll mechanism. Why?
When each supporter makes a contribution, they have the option of whether or not they want to appear in the recognition scroll and how they want their name to appear.

The Mary Kay Foundation℠ maintains only personal information that is voluntarily submitted to us. We respect your privacy and do not share your personal information with other organizations.
