The mission of the TMKF is two-fold:

* We are committed to eliminating cancers affecting women by supporting top medical scientists who are searching for a cure for breast, uterine, cervical and ovarian cancers.

* We are committed to ending the epidemic of domestic violence by providing grants to women's shelters and supporting community outreach programs.

Since the Foundation began in 1996, it has granted $50 million dollars to organizations fighting cancer and violence against women.

We will always remember Independent Senior National Sales Director Sally Rattray for her fun-loving, bubbling style, her dependable, sincere nature, the way she always gave more of herself than she expected from others and her entrepreneurial spirit. Sally was proud of her success in achieving her first Mary Kay goals; one of which was to earn enough in commissions to buy an airplane for her pilot husband, Bill! The other was to become a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director.

Debuting as the first Mary Kay Sales Director in Southern California, in 1970, Sally was a Pink Cadillac driver every active year from 1974 to 1995. Sally’s “Honey Bees” Unit was notorious for landing among the stars in the Top Ten. As an Independent Sales Director, she also received the California state Top Unit award every year until debuting as an Independent National Sales Director in 1982. Mary Kay Independent National Sales Directors in the Rattray lineage are the late NSD Emeritus Jo Anne Cunnington and National Sales Director Heidi Goelzer.

“Our sons’ lives reflect the Mary Kay influence.” Sally said. “They learned to set goals, overcome obstacles and to seek and achieve success.” Sally continued, “As for me, she took a woman who was an Air Force wife and mother, with no sales experience, and loved her into believing she could become a winner. She taught me I could do anything I could dream of and that there were no obstacles that could not be overcome. The choice was always mine. I shall always be thankful that I accepted the challenge.”

At the time of her death, Sally lived in San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, (William, II), a retired USAF Lt. Colonel. She is survived by her three sons, Gary, Scott and Bill (William, III), her loving daughters-in-law and four grandchildren: Tamra, Brittany, Cameron and Shannon.
