Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus Jana Cox passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Faith and family were significant threads woven throughout her Mary Kay business, and what a history she had! Jana and her mom started their Mary Kay businesses at the same time, after attending a guest event and hearing Jana’s future Senior NSD, Independent Elite Executive National Sales Director Emeritus, and now deceased, Dalene White. They became original members of Independent Executive Senior Sales Director Lady Ruth Brown’s team.

As was written about Jana in the book, And Then Some, Jana had every reason to give up hope of ever attaining the coveted position of Independent National Sales Director, having been a Mary Kay Independent Sales Director for almost 38 years. As the late Independent Senior National Sales Director Emeritus and her offspring, Rena Tarbet, once said, “It would have been easy for Jana to have given up, given in and given out. She simply could have decided that is wasn’t meant to be, but she never gave up on her dream! She never gave up hope and she never quit working her business.” Her story was used to mentor and inspire perseverance in Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants.

Jana began her Mary Kay business in March, 1966, and debuted as an Independent Sales Director in November, 1967. She debuted as an Independent Senior National Sales Director on September 1, 2005, out of the Sapphire Go Give Area, with Independent National Sales Directors Rena Tarbet and Jo Ann Blackmon as offspring, as well as second-line Independent National Sales Director offspring, Maria de los Angeles Carriedo de Ramos, of Mexico. Jana went on to be in the prestigious Inner Circle of Independent National Sales Directors five times.

People described Jana as full of life and enthusiasm. Jana was motivated by life, yet thought that people might find it surprising that she actually enjoyed quietness. She would often sit and write her affirmations and goals, as a way to unwind. Jana especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. At the time of her death, Jana lived in China Spring, Texas.

She is survived by her husband Lowell Cox, five children Dana Page, Brian Bentley, Shannon Thomas, Cory Cox, Jon Cox, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
