The mission of the TMKF is two-fold:

* We are committed to eliminating cancers affecting women by supporting top medical scientists who are searching for a cure for breast, uterine, cervical and ovarian cancers.

* We are committed to ending the epidemic of domestic violence by providing grants to women's shelters and supporting community outreach programs.

Since the Foundation began in 1996, it has granted $50 million dollars to organizations fighting cancer and violence against women.

The Mary Kay family is saddened by the loss of one of our Company crusaders, Independent National Sales Director Emeritus Anna Ewing, who passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. Working as a secretary in the mid-1960s, Anna drew upon her persistent spirit and love for a challenge to build a successful Mary Kay business, allowing her to resign from her secretarial position. After discovering the Mary Kay opportunity, Anna said that it became her crusade to rescue all working mothers from the eight-to-five workforce.

When Anna became an Independent Beauty Consultant in March 1965, it took some time to broaden her horizons, but as Anna said, “thanks to my association with such outstanding, wonderful examples as Mary Kay Ash, the Company staff and many fantastic, high-achieving sister Sales Directors, I, too, realized that I could climb even the highest mountain” in the Mary Kay world of love and growth.

Eight months after starting her Mary Kay business, Anna became an Independent Sales Director and forged a strong foundation of Mary Kay businesswomen who became her National Area when she debuted as an Independent National Sales Director in May 1982. Among Anna’s career highlights are: Top 10 Sales Director Nationwide two times; Circle of Achievement 10 times; Mary Kay Millionaires Club and the coveted Go-Give™ Award in August 1973. Anna became an Emeritus in January 1997. Of her Mary Kay career, Anna said, “It is awesome to me how God has placed the lives of the Mary Kay National Sales Directors together from so many different places, with such exciting common goals.”

A Texas native and a woman of faith, Anna loved to see a sunrise, considered her grandchildren her “hobbies” and, motivated by her love for people, often worked with underprivileged and abused children. When asked with whom she’d love to have a conversation, Anna answered, “Jesus…I will someday.”

At the time of her passing, Anna lived in Carrollton, Texas and is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, David and wife, Debbie; Mark and wife, Rhonda; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Chelsea, Drew and Catheryn; and 10 great grandsons.

Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. 75243.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to The Good News Club, C/O First Baptist Church, 2400 N. Josey Lane, Carrollton, Texas 75006
